A beautiful day was given by God for the fifth annual Spring Festival in Foote Homes Park. Volunteers from the University of Memphis, CBHS, the Vance Avenue Collaborative member agencies, churches, and health care providers joined forces to provide a Festival for the residents in the Vance Ave. Community. There was a Health Fair organized by Mae Yancy of Saint Patrick's. A Book Fair was made possible by the generous donation of books from church members of Redeemer Presbyterian, Lindenwood Christian and St. Patrick Catholic. Over 400 books were collected and distributed to children and adults. Bar-B-Que and hot dogs were provided by the Saint Patrick Community Outreach, Inc. cooking team. Also included in the Festival was an arts and crafts area and an area for children's games. These areas were manned by U of M students who did a wonderful job interacting with the children. A fun time was had by "ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages."
